A considered guide to tattoo placement
The same design can feel quiet, bold or intimate depending on where you wear it. Find a placement that fits the artwork and your everyday style.

Match the shape to the space
A narrow design often sits naturally along the inner forearm or beside the collarbone. A wider composition has room to breathe on the upper arm, shoulder or chest. Look at the design's listed dimensions before buying, then measure the space on your own body. A drawing on paper can help you see its scale without guessing from a screen.
Leave some clear skin around intricate details. That little bit of space makes the artwork feel deliberate rather than crowded.
Choose how visible you want it to be
A wrist or forearm design becomes part of everyday gestures. The upper arm can be revealed with a sleeve, while a collarbone placement feels closer to jewellery. There is no correct placement: think about the clothes you usually wear and whether you want the artwork to be noticed immediately or only up close.
Before application, check how the design looks when your arm is relaxed as well as when you turn it. Skin curves and moves, and a placement that feels balanced in one pose may look different in another.
Start with one, then build a story
For a first design, a smaller piece can be an easy way to discover what feels like you. Later, combine pieces with a shared line weight or theme, leaving enough distance for each to stand on its own. InkClub's semi-permanent format lets you try a new position or style without a long-term commitment.
